Creating a Painting

Due to the complex nature, composition and detail of the work Mr. Hasson is only able to execute approximately 6-8 paintings a year depending on the size, breadth and scope of the piece.

Therefore, his commitments tend to be made with a bit of lead time.  In order to accommodate commission requests we ask for 6-12 months preparation time at this writing.  Please plan ahead as that changes with demand.

You will also gather your images or have an idea of the type of image you are seeking to capture.  Mr. Hasson often takes photographs personally to establish the initial visual concept.  Secondly you will want to gather together the significant words, phrases, songs, poems or thoughts that you wish to present upon the canvas. 

You will also want to have an idea of the size you are looking for.

The price of the painting is based upon size, image, and the amount of text that appears on the canvas.  As you can imagine, the less complicated the painting, the less time, the less costly.  Elaborate works can take several months of research and execution time and will be more costly.  The composition and layering techniques are quite complicated so that all the elements of the work must be properly gathered prior to the start of the painting.  A draft image is created for approval and once approved...barring normative artistic license...the painting is commissioned with a non-refundable 50% retainer.  Please request a price guide...but a general reference will be:

Portraits or paintings with minimal text typically range from $4000.00 to $15,000.00.

Contemplative Paintings with layered text range from $12,000.00 to $30,000.00.

Due to the rarity of the work and the increasing demand we have seen the prices steadily increase over the past 3 years.  Acquiring a Randall M. Hasson original by Legacy Commission or Gallery Purchase is a goal worth achieving.

We anticipate the Giclee reproductions to follow suit with the expansion of the heretofore untapped marketing of the work.  Original collectors have already seen significant increases in value.  Many of the best art collections began with unknown artists discovered in their early years.  We believe this will be the case with Mr. Hasson.
